Kids for Kindness Week
January 17th through January 20th
With great anticipation, Yellow Ribbon Week is back! January 17th-20th our students will participate in many meaningful activities that encourage friendship building, respect, tolerance, and anti-bullying. Please make note below and discuss the week’s activities with your child: • January 17 - Introduction to Friendship Week • January 18 - All grade levels will wear yellow and attend a highly entertaining and informative performance by The Bully Dudes. This acclaimed assembly program adds humor and physical comedy to the very serious topic of bullying. Students will also be encouraged to meet a new friend at lunch! • January 19 - Students sign pledge against bullying. • January 20 - Spirit wear Friday! Students recite anti-bullying pledge at flag salute Ask your child to tell you about any new friends they made during this inspirational week!

Skating for Schools
It's LRES' ICE SKATING NIGHT at the KALEIDOSCOPE in Mission Viejo THURSDAY, JANUARY 26th from 4-8pm! (Fingers crossed it won’t rain again!) Come skate to the music under the stars with your friends and Laddie the Lion to have fun and support LRES’ Save the Music Program! 30% of all ticket sales from LRES will be given back to our music program! All three Ladera Ranch elementary schools have their own fundraising skate night. The school with the highest participation based on ticket sales will win an ice cream social from Swensen's (newest restaurant opening at the Kaleidoscope) for the ENTIRE SCHOOL. Two of the schools have already had their skate nights and we just happen to know the school to beat is Chaparral. We need at least 80 LRES students, parents, teachers and their friends to come skate and show some Lion Pride for LRES to win! Tickets for adults and children are $10 each and $2 for ice skate rentals. Tickets for children age 4 and under are $8 (includes ice skate rental). AND...when you show your wristband at participating Kaleidoscope restaurants that night, your family will earn 20% off of your meals! Simply bring your flyer and don't forget to mention LRES when you purchase your ice skating tickets. When coordinating with family and friends, please take advantage of the four hour span for ice skating, as the rink will accommodate approximately 40 skaters at a time! Let’s show our LRES spirit, let’s support our Save the Music Program, let’s go ice skating and let’s win an ice cream party!! |
